Focus on Creator Development
Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said India has always been one of the world’s greatest storytelling nations and that Indian stories have increasingly connected with audiences worldwide. He added that investing in creators would remain Netflix’s biggest priority as it enters its next decade in India.
Under the initiative’s first phase, Netflix will partner with IICT to co-develop courses in Visual Effects Mastery and Media Technology Workflows. It will also offer scholarships for programmes in interactive comics, sequential art, virtual art department content creation, character animation, and e-sports and gaming management.
In the second phase, Netflix will work with the NFDC to train audio description writers and voice professionals, helping make films and series more accessible to people with visual and hearing impairments while supporting the government’s accessibility efforts.
