Swami Vivekananda’s Vision Finds Reflection In PM Modi’s Personal Writings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has remained steadfast in his commitment to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda throughout decades of public life, drawing inspiration from the revered monk’s philosophy of selfless service.

This influence appears in a handwritten note from the Prime Minister’s personal diary, shared by Modi Archive, highlighting his belief in placing service above self.

Quoting Vivekananda, the post recalled his powerful message urging individuals to devote their lives to the service of humanity, asserting that such sacrifice gives rise to heroic workers who transform the world.

The post noted that on National Youth Day 2026, the nation should honour Swami Vivekananda’s vision by embracing the principle of ‘service over self’, a value that continues to guide PM Modi’s approach to governance and public service.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary, observed as National Youth Day, stating that the occasion instils renewed strength and self-confidence, especially among the youth.

In a message on X, he described Vivekananda as a timeless source of inspiration whose ideas energise the resolve to build a Viksit Bharat.

In a video address, PM Modi emphasised that Swami Vivekananda believed fearless, selfless and courageous youth form the foundation of a nation’s future.

Urging young Indians to live up to that faith, he said the world’s growing confidence in India stems from its vibrant youth.

Born on January 12, 1863, Swami Vivekananda introduced Indian philosophies such as Vedanta and Yoga to the West and inspired generations through his message of service, unity and national awakening.
