The next hearing was scheduled by the court for March 1. A female Coast Guard officer has filed the petition in this case. The Center was brought up during the matter’s prior hearing on February 19. It was then that the Chief Justice had questioned why there was an “indifference” about the Coast Guard. “What makes you oppose women serving in the Coast Guard? The “patriarchal” mentality that opposed the enlistment of women in the force had been questioned by the court. “There are women in the Navy; what makes the Coast Guard unique?” The entire canvas will be made available.
