The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict tomorrow at 10:30 am on a petition challenging the Calcutta High Court’s order advising girls to control their “sexual desire”. A bench comprising Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Ujjwal Bhuinya will deliver the judgment.

In December last year, the Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance of the matter and stayed the High Court’s order, criticizing the remarks as “objectionable and unwanted”. The West Bengal government had filed a petition against the High Court’s October 18, 2023, decision.
