Harsimrat Kaur Badal, wife of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, on Friday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for enquiring about Badal’s health following an attack in Nanded, Maharashtra.
Taking to social media platform X, Harsimrat thanked PM Modi for personally calling to enquire about Sukhbir Badal’s condition and wishing him a speedy recovery. She also appreciated the Prime Minister for taking immediate cognisance of the incident and directing central investigating agencies to coordinate with Maharashtra Police during the probe.

Harsimrat also thanked Amit Shah for reaching out to her and expressing concern over Badal’s health. She said his reassurance and commitment to an effective investigation meant a great deal to the family, the SAD and the people of Punjab.

Sukhbir Singh Badal sustained minor injuries after an assailant allegedly attacked him with a kirpan at Mata Sahib Kaur Gurdwara in Maharashtra’s Nanded on Thursday.
Police detained the attacker, identified as 62-year-old Jaspal Singh, at the spot and launched an investigation into the motive behind the assault.
The attacker allegedly tried to stab Badal in the stomach, but security personnel intervened.
Badal sustained minor hand and shoulder injuries and received treatment at Yashosai Hospital.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal witnessed the attack, which occurred during the family’s visit to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded.
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis ordered a full inquiry.
