Such Enthusiastic Gatherings Show Change Is Coming: PM Modi At Bengal Rally

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the scale of public participation in his election rallies in West Bengal has surpassed what he has witnessed elsewhere, expressing confidence about a shift in the state’s political landscape.

Addressing a gathering in East Burdwan district, PM Modi remarked that the turnout and energy at campaign events indicate strong support for change. He noted that such large crowds during midday rallies were unusual even in his home state of Gujarat, adding that the response in West Bengal reflects growing momentum ahead of the Assembly elections.

During his address, the Prime Minister said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power, it will release a White Paper outlining alleged instances of corruption over the past 15 years under the All India Trinamool Congress government.

PM Modi also dismissed claims that a BJP government would discontinue welfare programmes. He said existing schemes would continue and authorities would act against corruption.

The Prime Minister further announced that a new BJP government would prioritise the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat health scheme, which has not been rolled out in the state so far. He said the first Cabinet meeting would take steps in this direction.

PM Modi also said strict action would target illegal infiltration and those facilitating it through fraudulent documentation.

Polling for the state Assembly will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results on May 4.
