SpiceJet Aircraft Seen Engulfed In Flames
SpiceJet Aircraft was engulfed in flames while its engine was being maintained at the Delhi airport. This news came up in the late hours of Tuesday. The airline has reported that no one was harmed in this accident. The personnel who were working on the maintenance of the aircraft are safe.
In the video, one can see the engine of a Q400 burning in high rise flames as it caught fire. The video is shot from an open area in the airport. One of the aircraft’s engines displayed a fire alert during a ground run at the bay, according to a SpiceJet representative. The fire was put out with the use of a fire extinguisher, and a fire brigade was also called as a safety measure.
Ironically, following a number of incidents involving the maintenance of aircraft that occurred during the last monsoon, the DGCA had announced that SpiceJet would no longer be subject to the “enhanced surveillance” that had been placed upon it. The DGCA conducted inspections on 23 SpiceJet aircraft, including Boeing 737 and Q-400, at 11 different locations before making its judgement. It is to note that shares of the corporation increased by about 4% almost away following the ruling.
SpiceJet is a budget flight in India. This airplane company has faced a lot of issues in the past few months. There was a count of 8 incidents that took place with SpiceJet within a time period of 10 weeks till July 6. However, there was a time when the same airline was flourishing well and there was an increasing demand for tickets in this airline. One fails to understand why is the organization being so careless. It was even put under “enhanced surveillance” by DGCA due to all such incidents.
