On Monday, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung visited Raj Ghat to honour Mahatma Gandhi. The visit marked a key moment during his ongoing state visit to India.
Taking to X, the Ministry of External Affairs posted, “For peace, harmony, and a better world President @Jaemyung_Lee of Republic of Korea paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat, honouring values of peace and non-violence.”

Earlier in the day, the visiting leader received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted him at the forecourt. Traditional performances and a guard of honour marked the occasion.
Children waving Indian and South Korean flags were also present to welcome the delegation. Their presence added a cultural touch to the ceremony.

President Lee arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a three-day visit, accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and senior officials. Minister of State Harsh Malhotra received him at the airport.
The MEA described the visit as an important step in strengthening ties between the two countries.
In another X post, the MEA posted, “A very warm welcome to H.E. President Lee Jae Myung of Republic of Korea as he arrives in New Delhi on a State Visit to India. This is President Lee’s first visit to India.”

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also met the South Korean President.

Later in the day, President Lee is likely to hold detailed talks with Prime Minister Modi. Discussions will likely cover areas such as trade, investment, shipbuilding, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, along with regional and global issues.
Prime Minister Modi will host a lunch in honour of the visiting leader, while President Murmu will likely hold separate talks and host a state banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Officials noted that India and South Korea share a broad partnership based on democratic values and long-standing cultural links, with both sides looking to expand cooperation into new sectors.
