Shri Shambhu Panchdashnam Atal Akhara’s Grand Entry Marks The Beginning of Maha Kumbh In Prayagraj

As the Maha Kumbh unfolds on the Sangam coast of Prayagraj, the entry of 13 Akharas from Sanatan Dharma is underway, captivating devotees and marking an important moment in this religious gathering. On January 1, Shri Shambhu Panchdashnam Atal Akhara made its grand entry into the Akhara sector, drawing a large crowd of onlookers eager to witness the historic event.

The entry procession of Shri Shambhu Panchdashnam Atal Akhara began at the Akhara’s local headquarters at Alopi Bagh, showcasing a blend of tradition, enthusiasm, and discipline. Leading the procession was Acharya Maha Mandaleshwar Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati, followed by a chariot carrying Lord Gajanan, the presiding deity of the Akhara. Traditional deities of the Akhara were also part of the procession, which captivated the masses.

Among the most striking features of this grand entry were the Naga sanyasis, who have always been central to the Akhara’s identity. A large gathering of local people turned out to witness the procession, especially eager to see the army of Naga sanyasis. These revered saints marched in a disciplined queue, with a child Naga sanyasi garnering significant attention.

According to Acharya Maha Mandaleshwar Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati, the procession included more than two dozen Maha Mandaleshwars and over 200 Naga sanyasis. The procession also featured saints riding on chariots, with crowds on both sides of the road eager to seek blessings.

Surya Prakash Spear: A Symbol Of Reverence

One of the key highlights of the procession was the “Surya Prakash” spear, adorned with flowers and leading the procession. This sacre spear is a revered symbol within the Akhara and is only display during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Its presence further enhanced the religious significance of the procession, drawing even more attention from devotees.

As the procession covered a distance of five kilometers, reaching Sector 20 of the Maha Kumbh, the Akhara saints received a warm welcome from the Maha Kumbh administration. At various points along the route, flower showers were offered to the saints, signaling respect and reverence for their spiritual journey.

The grand entry of Shri Shambhu Panchdashnam Atal Akhara marks the beginning of a series of sacred events during the Maha Kumbh, which continues to inspire millions of devotees from around the world.
