CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan
The Central Irrigation and Energy Bureau has named the state an excellent state for its irrigation work. A nomination for the Bureau’s ‘CBIP Award’ was submitted based on the successful implementation of Madhya Pradesh’s Mohanpura and Kundalia projects. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the efficient use of water resources.
Union Minister R.K. Singh presented this award to Madhya Pradesh on March 3 in New Delhi. Before the meeting of the Council of Ministers began today in the Vidhansabha committee room, Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat and the departmental staff on their achievement.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made continuous decisions to expand the irrigation area and also approved many irrigation schemes for the state. During the last 15 years, the state’s irrigated area has increased from 8 lakh hectares to 45 lakh hectares thanks to Chief Minister Chouhan’s vision and special efforts. The hectare mark has been reached.
In the past three years, water has been given to the farms in Madhya Pradesh utilizing new technology thanks to Chief Minister Chouhan’s great will. Madhya Pradesh has been acknowledged as the first state to irrigate more than twice the amount of land with the same amount of water as compared to a canal irrigation scheme.
