The Bharatiya Janta Party criticised the former CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackrey for his statement “A Godhra-like incident can occur following the Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya. the former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad slammed back his statement saying ” It is shameful and how can late Babsaheb Thackrey’s son say such things?
” Uddhav Thackeray claims that if Ram temple is inaugurated, an incident similar to the Godhra incident might take place. what is this supposed to mean? It was Balasaheb Thackrey who showcased courage during the Ram Mandir distress. it is shameful that his son is saying such shameful things.” said Ravi Shankar Prasad
Ram temple is likely to be inaugurated in January 2024, before the Lok Sabha elections take -place. A date between 21st January and 24 January will be decided by the PM.

Thackeray’s statement
“It is presumed that a large number of people from all over the nation would be invited to attend the event. The mode of their mobility can be buses and trucks, while they return a Godhra-like incident is likely to happen,” said Thackrey

In 2002, 59 karsevaks were killed after a coach of the Sabarmati Express was set on fire. Known as the Godhra train burning case, this triggered a massive riot across Gujarat.
The former minister Ravi Shankar Prasad attacked the opposition’s INDIA bloc and made accusations that the parties have an agenda behind attacking Sanatana Dharma for vote bank politics. He also questioned why the opposition was silent over DMK leader Stalin’s remark on Sanatana Dharma. Sonia Gandhi also chose not to speak on the matter and remain silent.
“The BJP will urge this alliance to come out with a categorical resolution that we completely disassociate ourselves (from DMK’s criticism) and this is not our agenda,” the senior BJP leader said.
