SC Declines to Issue Orders on UP Government Jauhar University Land Lease Cancellation

In the Supreme Court, Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust had challenged the decision of the UP government to cancel the lease of land given to the university.

Actually, Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust had filed an application in the Supreme Court regarding this. In the Supreme Court, Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust had challenged the decision of the UP government to cancel the lease of land given to the university.

The matter pertains to the rule of the SP government in UP. In fact, during the SP government, Azam Khan had given the entire campus including the building of Murtaza Higher Secondary School of Rampur to Maulana Mohammad Jauhar Trust on a 99-year lease. The annual rent for this 3825 square meter property worth around Rs 100 crore was fixed at only Rs 100. For this, Azam Khan had also signed an agreement with the Secondary Education Department, but now the government has canceled the lease alleging violation of the terms of this agreement.

Case pending in Allahabad High Court

Although the case related to this case is pending in Allahabad High Court, but there is continuous delay in the hearing of the case, in view of which Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust has filed an application in the Supreme Court.
