The SBI CME Soldierathon took place on 17th November 2024 at CME Pune. Over 8,000 people joined the event, organised by Fitistan Ek Fit Bharat, to honour India’s Armed Forces and raise funds for injured soldiers’ rehabilitation. The event also celebrated Sappers Day, commemorating the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The event featured three race categories: 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km. It was flagged off at 6:00 AM by Lt. General AK Ramesh, Major General Gaurav Kaushik, VSM, and other dignitaries, including Sh Ram Singh, GM of SBI. The race saw participants from the military, civilians, students, and fitness enthusiasts.
The SBI CME Soldierathon raised ₹35 lakh. The funds will go directly to the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center in Kirkee, Pune, to support soldiers injured in service. The 3,600-acre CME Pune campus provided a scenic backdrop for the event, featuring serene lakes, lush forests, and migratory birds.
The day also included cultural performances that celebrated India’s military heritage and patriotism. Participants ran alongside soldiers, experiencing their discipline and spirit firsthand.
