The question is - Why was the postmortem needed?
After the questions arising over the death of film actor Satish Kaushik, whatever argument the Delhi Police may give, the real picture is that the District Deputy Commissioner of Police has been sent on leave after the mud sprung on the hem of the department.
The news of the sudden demise of film actor Satish Kaushik on the night of Holi shocked all his fans from the capital Delhi to the film city Mumbai. During preliminary information, the cause of death was said to be a heart attack. But after the news came out the very next day, the Delhi Police was standing in the dock. Another news speculated that actor Satish Kaushik had died in “suspicious condition” at the farmhouse of rape-accused gutkha king Vikas Malu. In this case, questions were also being raised on the role of a DCP along with some top officers of Delhi Police.
What is the charge?
According to sources, two touts had provided girls during the party organized on Holi. Information also came to the fore that banned drugs were used in the party. When asked about this, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajeev Kumar says that information has been received from the CCTV footage that some families were involved in the party. Till now the matter of supplying girls has not come to the fore. But confirmation or denial of the allegations is possible only after the completion of the investigation.
DCP sent on leave
In this case, no matter what the Delhi Police may say, but the reality is indicating something else. Perhaps this is the reason why DCP C Manoj of the area has been separated from the investigation. If sources are to be believed, he has been sent on leave after the allegations. When an attempt was made to talk to him in this matter, his mobile was found switched off. On the same Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajeev Kumar said that he is looking into the matter as the DCP has gone on leave after the incident.
This is what the police said
On the night of Holi, Kapashera police station received information about the death of Satish Kaushik from Forties Hospital in Gurgaon. He was taken there from Pushpanjali Farm House. Satish Kaushik had come to Delhi from Mumbai with his manager on March 08 and stayed at Vikas Malu’s house. They played Holi till 3 pm and then went to rest. He had his dinner at around 9 pm in the evening and then went to his room after a stroll. Around 12 o’clock in the middle of the night, he called his manager and told him about uneasiness and chest pain. Then he was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Why was the postmortem required?
The police say that the cause of death in the actor’s post-mortem report has been described as a heart attack. Generally, a postmortem is not done in normal cases. The police claim that even the family members of the actor have not expressed any doubt, so the question arises as to why the police conducted the post-mortem. Police say that at around 2.22 pm, Fortis Hospital informed them about the death of actor Satish Kaushik. Since the hospital had made an MLC in this matter, keeping in mind the questions that may arise in the future, the post-mortem was done by taking action under CrPC 174.
The experts’ opinion
According to medical experts, the cause of death could be a heart attack. But the question also arises that why did the heart attack happen? In these cases, death cannot be termed as normal only on the basis of postmortem report. In such cases, the ashes of the deceased along with his blood are preserved. The final decision is taken only after the report arrives. In such a situation, the question arises that why the police are in a hurry to show it as a normal matter by saying heart attack as the cause of death.
Malu’s family feuds
According to police sources, Gutkha King Vikas Malu divorced his first wife and then he married his PA for the second time. Last year, the same second wife filed a rape case against Malu. In this case, on the orders of the court, the LOC issued against him was withdrawn on the orders of the court itself. Malu also applied for anticipatory bail in this case, but the court rejected it. Later the police seized his passport.
