The administration in Sambhal has completed preparations for the measurement of the eight-bigha cemetery located near the Jama Masjid and facing the Harihar Temple.

Authorities will begin the actual measurement process once the designated land surveyor and other officials arrive at the site.

They have emphasised that officials will conduct the survey only after all concerned personnel are present to ensure transparency and accuracy.

The exercise follows complaints alleging illegal construction of 20 to 25 shops and houses on cemetery land.

Officials have stressed that the purpose of the survey is to determine the actual status of the land and resolve these disputes in a fair and lawful manner

Given the sensitive nature of the issue, the police administration has placed the area on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents.

Authorities have deployed more than 500 personnel, including forces from eight local police stations, across the area.

Three companies of the PAC and one company of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) are maintaining strict vigilance over the cemetery and its surroundings.

Entry into the cemetery has been restricted for security reasons, and all movements are closely monitored.

The authorities have also deployed RPF and PAC personnel at major streets and intersections. This has effectively turned the area into a temporary security zone to maintain peace.

The administration has assured citizens that it will conduct the entire measurement peacefully, fairly, and transparently.

Officials warned that they will take strict action against anyone who attempts to disrupt law and order or spread rumours.

Authorities reiterated that they will not allow any individual or group to create unrest during the process.

The deployment of security personnel and administrative oversight underscores the importance of maintaining communal harmony. It aim to ensure that the land survey proceeds without incident.

Authorities have advised residents and visitors to cooperate with officials and follow instructions to avoid any inconvenience.

Once officials complete the measurement, it will likely clarify the legal status of the cemetery land. It will also provide a basis for resolving disputes related to encroachments.

Authorities aim to conclude the survey smoothly and transparently, setting a precedent for handling similar cases across the state.
