
The special ration scheme launched for saints, mahatmas, Kalpvasis, and devotees during Maha Kumbh 2025 has proved to be highly effective, with over 2,000 metric tons of subsidized ration distributed so far.
Due to the continued influx of devotees, the government has extended the scheme until March to ensure that pilgrims have easy access to essential supplies.

Under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the special ration distribution reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahkarita se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation).

The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) has further played a pivotal role in making this initiative a success, providing 1,400 metric tons of flour and rice, along with 600 metric tons of pulses, all at affordable prices.
Mobile Vans And Convenient Ordering Services For Ration Distribution
To ensure that ration reaches every corner of the Maha Kumbh Mela area and Prayagraj, 20 mobile vans are operating throughout the region. These vans deliver essential goods, and devotees can conveniently place orders for flour, rice, and pulses through WhatsApp or by phone call. Flour and rice are available in 10 kg packets, while pulses offer in 1 kg packets. To place an order, devotees can contact the number 72 75 78 18 10.
Seamless Execution With Close Monitoring
The ration distribution scheme is overseen by NAFED in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperation and the Uttar Pradesh government. Deepak Agarwal, MD of NAFED, is personally monitoring the execution to further ensure the smooth and timely delivery of goods. The distribution system particularly popular among pilgrims, with Bharat brand products, for their affordability and quality, appreciated by the recipients.

Saints, Mahatmas, and Kalpvasis have further expressed gratitude for the scheme, as it has allowed them to continue their religious practices without interruptions. The affordable pricing has alleviated many concerns, ensuring that the spiritual experience of Maha Kumbh remains undisturbed. With such effective distribution, the Ministry of Cooperation and the Uttar Pradesh government are committed to making sure that no devotee or saint faces inconvenience.

The subsidized rates for the ration are as follows:
- Flour: Rs 30 per kg
- Rice: Rs 34 per kg
- Chana Dal: Rs 70 per kg
- Masoor Dal: Rs 89 per kg
- Moong Dal: Rs 107 per kg
Through this initiative, the Yogi government and NAFED have further set a new standard for support services during large-scale religious events, ensuring that all attendees, regardless of their background, have access to essential supplies at affordable rates.
