Sahara India’s leader, Saharasri Subrata Roy, found his final resting place this evening at Baikunthdham, where his essence merged with the five elements. The poignant ceremony witnessed his grandchildren performing the last rites, while onlookers at the ghat bid a tearful farewell, resonating with chants of ‘Saharasri Amar Rahe.’ The entire Baikunthdham was transformed into a floral haven, with exclusive parking at the ghat reserved for Sahara family members.
The commencement of Subrata Roy’s final journey from Sahara City, Gomti Nagar, saw a procession passing through significant landmarks before reaching Baikunthdham. The funeral proceedings unfolded subsequent to his passing on November 14 at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. VIPs, encompassing actors, singers, directors, politicians, and Sahara India employees, paid their respects at both the hospital and the ghat.
Dignitaries, including former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Sahara India family members, gathered at the ghat to offer condolences. The cremation, held on platform number 8 exclusively reserved for the Sahara family, unfolded in an atmosphere laden with solemnity.
