Sadhguru Proposes Himalayan Board With India, China, Pakistan, Nepal And Bhutan

Spiritual leader Sadhguru has suggested the creation of a Himalayan Board involving India, China, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan to promote coordinated action across the mountain region. He argued that the countries sharing the Himalayan system should not allow political boundaries to prevent them from working together on common environmental concerns.

Sadhguru said the Himalayas transcend national and political divisions and require a collective approach to their protection.

Sadhguru stressed that the participating nations could maintain their individual administrations while still developing a common mechanism for consultation. He said regular discussions among the countries could help them coordinate their policies and ensure greater consistency in decisions affecting the Himalayan region.

According to Sadhguru, the mountain system represents a shared natural asset that requires cooperation rather than isolated action by individual nations. He described the Himalayas as one of the planet’s most remarkable geographical features while simultaneously highlighting their ecological vulnerability.

Sadhguru emphasised that the scale and fragility of the Himalayan ecosystem make cross-border cooperation particularly important. He called for governments to recognise the environmental connections between different parts of the mountain range and consider the wider consequences of their actions.

The proposed Himalayan Board could provide a platform for India, China, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan to exchange information, discuss challenges and explore coordinated approaches to conservation.

Sadhguru’s proposal places greater emphasis on regional consultation and collective responsibility in managing the Himalayas, which extend across multiple national territories.

The initiative underlines the importance of protecting the mountain system while balancing environmental concerns with the developmental needs of the countries that share it.
