RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Outlines ‘Sangh Model Of Change’ On Centenary; Issues Advisory To Gen-Z

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered a keynote address marking the organisation’s centenary at Reshimbagh Ground in Nagpur.

Former President Ram Nath Kovind attended as the chief guest, and the ceremony began with a traditional Shastra Puja.

Bhagwat’s address covered a broad spectrum of issues, from national security and economic self-reliance to social harmony and youth engagement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the speech, describing it as insightful and visionary, highlighting the RSS’s significant contributions to nation-building.

Learning From National Icons

Bhagwat commenced his address by drawing parallels between the 350th anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s sacrifice and the 100-year milestone of the RSS.

He emphasised the protection of Hindu society against foreign aggressors, reflecting on the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The chief stressed that devotion, dedication, and service to the nation provide enduring lessons for building character and leading a meaningful life.

Reflecting on the past year, Bhagwat highlighted national and global events, urging citizens to cultivate personal and national strength.

He cited the Pahalgam incident, where Hindu pilgrims were attacked, as a reminder of the need for vigilance. He praised the government, armed forces, and social unity in responding to the threat, emphasising that national security remains paramount.

The RSS chief commended government action against extremist Naxal movements and urged comprehensive development and justice in historically marginalised regions. He highlighted that social awareness and administrative vigilance are essential to counter injustice and sustain harmony.

Addressing economic concerns, Bhagwat stressed the importance of domestic production and self-reliance in response to international pressures. He warned against over-dependence on foreign systems and emphasised voluntary engagement with global partners.

According to him, sustainable development requires balancing material growth with ethical, social, and environmental considerations.

Advisory to Youth and Neighbouring Nations

Bhagwat urged Gen-Z to observe recent unrest and political changes in neighbouring countries such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

He advocated peaceful democratic processes over violent change and encouraged young citizens to learn from these events. He also advised governments to act with social awareness and restraint in policy-making, discouraging unlawful or provocative actions.

India’s Role in Global Problem-Solving

The RSS chief highlighted India’s potential to offer solutions to global challenges, noting that technological progress alone cannot address societal conflicts, wars, and inequalities.

He emphasised that India’s holistic, Sanatan approach, integrating mind, morality, and societal development, can serve as a model for the world.

Bhagwat concluded by underlining that change in India stems from society itself, not merely government action.

He stressed the importance of fostering patriotism, cultural faith, and social responsibility among citizens, especially youth. Social organisations and volunteers play a key role in addressing local challenges and exemplifying India’s values globally.

His centenary address reiterated that material growth alone is insufficient. True progress requires cultivating character, promoting social cohesion, and achieving systemic transformation through holistic thinking and sustained action.

This article summarises Mohan Bhagwat’s centenary address, highlighting lessons for individuals, society, and the nation, while emphasising vigilance, self-reliance, and the enduring relevance of India’s Sanatan philosophy.
