Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has announced a series of decisions covering its official documentation, academic programmes, research activities and student engagement initiatives.

Under the new decision, the university will no longer use the word ‘India’ on its documents, degrees or mark sheets. The institution will use ‘Bharat’ instead across these records.

The university will establish a Centre for Research in the Indian Knowledge Tradition and an Anandam Centre.

Two new institutional units are planned to strengthen professional development and cooperation with industry. These include a Cell for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship Promotion and Self-Reliance, and an Industry-University Collaboration Cell.

To support institutional planning, the university has decided to constitute an Academic Advancement Advisory Committee and a Financial Management Advisory Committee.

The decisions include introducing industry-sponsored courses in areas such as aviation, agriculture and paramedical studies.

The institution will place particular emphasis on encouraging the Professor of Practice scheme.

The university plans to organise a large-scale programme to mark 200 years of Hindi journalism. It will, however, hold a grand celebration to commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.

In addition, the institution will launch the Bharatbodh Pragya Series. The university has included the initiative in a wider set of academic and knowledge-focused measures.

The university has, however, outlined two initiatives intended to connect classroom learning with wider social concerns.

The ‘Vriddh Vardaan – Vidyarthi Saarthi’ course will enable students to interact directly with senior citizens.

Another course, titled ‘Not Problems, But Solutions’ (Samasyā Nahin, Samādhān), will encourage students to identify contemporary challenges and consider possible ways to address them.

The decisions collectively cover changes to university records, new centres and committees, industry-linked education, commemorative events and student-focused programmes. They reflect the university’s stated focus on strengthening academic activities, promoting practical skills, encouraging research and fostering engagement between students and society, and institutional priorities.
