RJD candidate Kumari Anita withdrew her petition from the Supreme Court after being asked to go to the High Court level.
The vacation bench of the Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition demanding a re-poll alleging large-scale rigging at polling booths in the Munger Lok Sabha seat of Bihar.
This petition was filed by RJD candidate Kumari Anita. During the court proceedings, the Supreme Court expressed its stance, emphasizing that it was inappropriate to accuse the High Court without first filing a petition there
The High Court is open, you go there, we will not hear it. RJD candidate Kumari Anita has withdrawn the petition filed in the court.
RJD candidate Kumari Anita had demanded fresh voting alleging large-scale irregularities including booth capturing at some polling booths.
The Supreme Court told the petitioner to go to the High Court and put forth the point. RJD candidate Kumari Anita had filed a petition in the Supreme Court alleging irregularities during the Lok Sabha elections. JDU workers in connivance with the polling officers rigged the voting at 45 booths in the Munger Lok Sabha seat.
It was said in the petition that she was also beaten up when she protested against the incident.
An FIR was also lodged on May 13. Nothing was done even after informing the District Election Officer. The petition also demanded that the District Election Officer be removed from all administrative responsibilities. The petition also demanded that Election Commission be directed to ensure free and fair voting at 45 booths in Munger.
