On Tuesday, Delhi Police announced the arrest of an individual believed to be associated with a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module operating in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused, identified as Riyaz Ahmad Rather, retired from the army and allegedly played a pivotal role in facilitating the transportation of arms and ammunition from across the Line of Control (LoC). He was apprehended at New Delhi Railway Station on Sunday.
According to officials, Rather collaborated with Khursheed Ahmad Rather and Ghulam Sarwar Rather in a scheme to procure arms and ammunition from LeT handlers across the LoC.
Intelligence received from Jammu and Kashmir investigating agencies indicated Riyaz’s involvement in a recent terror module case, where five individuals were arrested and significant evidence was seized, including five AK rifles, five AK magazines, and 16 short AK rounds.
These supplies were allegedly dispatched by LeT operatives based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, specifically Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh alias Shakoor and Qazi Mohammad Khushal, operating from across the border.

Authorities were alerted that Riyaz was attempting to evade capture and would be arriving at New Delhi Railway Station.
A team was promptly deployed, resulting in his apprehension as he attempted to flee through exit gate number 1. Investigations revealed that Riyaz, accompanied by his associate Altaf, had traveled from Jabalpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station before reaching New Delhi Railway Station, where they intended to head to another hideout.
