Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) conducted raids on Tuesday targeting the residences of four terrorists who were operating from across the border in an attempt to revive militancy in Kishtwar district, as confirmed by a senior police officer.
The ongoing raids are taking place in Mughal Maiden, Chatroo, and Singhpora areas, with the objective of dismantling the militant network in the district by identifying various individuals involved in supporting and aiding terrorism. Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, provided this information to PTI.
According to officials, the houses of terrorists Jamal Din, Gulzar Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad, and Gulabu, who had fled to Pakistan and were operating from there, were specifically targeted in the recent series of raids, as part of a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Earlier, on April 26, the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Jammu issued non-bailable warrants against 23 terrorists from Kishtwar who were operating from across the border. Additionally, non-bailable warrants had been previously issued against 13 terrorists in the district.
Over a period of time, 36 individuals from Kishtwar joined the ranks of terror in Pakistan. Subsequently, two First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered against them after their involvement in terrorist activities came to light during investigations, stated the SSP.
Even in May, the Jammu and Kashmir Police SIU conducted raids aiming at the houses of eight terrorists based in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The raid was carried out in various locations in Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
