Reliance’s “December to Remember” Campaign with ‘We Care’

Reliance’ ‘December to Remember’ is one such initiative which is aimed at bringing smiles on the faces of underprivileged children across India.  Through the campaign Reliance volunteers reach out to Anganwadis, schools and underprivileged communities with its practical message of ‘We Care’. Imbibing the ideas of Reliance’s ‘We Care’ through volunteering, the Foundation’s initiative has been able to spread smiles on the faces of more than eight thousand children in the age group of 3 to 12 years this year.

Mrs. Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, describes children’s laughters as “wonderful.”

Reliance’s volunteer visited Anganwadis, schools, and impoverished areas as part of ‘December to Remember,’ a campaign. This was done to bring happiness to poor children across India. In its tenth year, the project embodies Reliance’s ‘We Care’ concept via volunteerism and aims to serve over 8100 children aged 3 to 12 by 2022.

‘December to Remember’ included celebrations at Jio Presents Hamleys Wonderland™ in Mumbai. On 26 December with over 1400 children from marginalised backgrounds getting a special treat.

“Christmas is a time to spread pleasure and good cheer. “Isha and I have loved celebrating Christmas with children at Reliance Foundation for over a decade,” stated Mrs Nita Ambani, Founder & Chairperson, Reliance Foundation.

“This year as well, children from underprivileged homes gathered together to enjoy fun and activities at the Hamleys Wonderland in Mumbai, and at places around the country.

Hundreds of Reliance volunteers helped to make this a really beautiful event. They Delivered presents, shared love, and tried spreading smiles all over the place, making it a December to Remember! “May the new year provide enormous hope and opportunity for all of our children.”

Starting in the first week of December in Mumbai, the December to Remember activities took place across Thane, Kolkata, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Silvassa (Dadra and Nagar Haveli), Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh), Delhi, Ranchi, Chennai and Bengaluru.

Employees also engaged children in games, teaching craft and motivating them with an aim to spread happiness. Together, employees contributed over 1500 volunteering hours to bring cheer to the children. A raffle contest was also held at every location. Where a child with the winning ticket got to make a wish.
