‘Ready To Go To Jail’: Abhijeet Dipke Announces Tricolour March In Delhi

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Friday announced plans to lead a peaceful Tricolour march to Central Park in Connaught Place at 05:00 PM on October 16 as part of the party’s ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ campaign.

Addressing a press conference in Jhandewalan alongside CJP National Legal Affairs Lead Ratna Singh, Dipke alleged that authorities were restricting peaceful displays of the national flag and targeting those demanding electoral accountability.

“Tonight or tomorrow morning, the Delhi Police can pick me up. If one has to go to jail for waving the Tricolour in this country, then we are ready for it,” he said.

Dipke claimed that authorities had erected barricades, disrupted public transport and suspended internet services following the party’s October 10 protest call. He further alleged that officials planned to close Central Park after the march announcement.

Invoking Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar, Dipke reiterated the party’s commitment to non-violent protests.

Questioning reports that police would allow only 11 people to unfurl the national flag, Dipke asked whether displaying the Tricolour had become a crime. He further alleged that police had detained party members Ashutosh and Saurabh for displaying the national flag and demanded their release.

Ratna Singh said the party’s legal team had completed the required procedures but accused officials of delaying the release of the detained members. She said the party would challenge the detentions in court.

Dipke alleged that party members were under surveillance and called for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral irregularities involving Form 6. He further clarified that the campaign sought an independent Election Commission rather than the removal of the government.
