Ravi Shankar Prasad-Led Delegation Begins Anti-Terrorism Diplomacy In France

BJP leader and Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad arrived in Paris on Sunday with an all-party parliamentary delegation, kicking off a crucial six-country diplomatic mission under ‘Operation Sindoor’.

The campaign aims to raise global awareness about India’s strong stance against terrorism, especially in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent military actions.

The Indian Embassy in France confirmed the arrival of the delegation via social media, stating, “An All Party 9-member delegation of eminent Parliamentarians and a distinguished former diplomat, led by @rsprasad, arrived in Paris today to convey India’s strong and clear stance against terrorism.”

Ravi Shankar Prasad also reshared the embassy’s post on X, underlining the significance of the visit.

The delegation includes leaders from across India’s political spectrum: Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena-UBT), Ghulam Ali Khatana (BJP), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), M Thambidurai (AIADMK), former Union Minister MJ Akbar, and retired diplomat Ambassador Pankaj Saran.

This bipartisan presence underscores India’s united resolve against terrorism.

Engagements In Paris

During the three-day visit, the team will meet with members of the French Senate and National Assembly, foreign policy think tanks, and prominent media outlets.

In addition, they will engage with members of the Indian diaspora in Paris to reinforce India’s global message of unity and zero tolerance toward terrorism.

The visit is the first leg of a broader diplomatic campaign that includes stops in Italy, the UK, Germany, Denmark, and the European Union headquarters.

The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Together in the fight against terrorism. The seventh group of All Party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad has departed for a 6-country visit.”

This initiative follows India’s precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7 under ‘Operation Sindoor’.

These decisive actions came in retaliation for the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed several lives.

Subsequently, between May 8 and 10, Pakistan attempted retaliatory strikes, which the Indian military swiftly and firmly repelled, demonstrating India’s robust defence posture.

Seven such delegations are visiting 33 capitals across the globe to build international consensus against cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

The Paris visit sets the tone for the diplomatic engagements ahead, reinforcing India’s commitment to global peace and regional security.
