The Ram temple in Ayodhya witnessed an overwhelming influx of devotees, with around 5 lakh individuals defying harsh winter conditions to visit the sacred site a day after its grand opening. Approximately 3 lakh devotees had the opportunity to offer prayers inside the temple, while an equal number patiently waited for their turn, as reported by officials.

Even on the following morning, substantial crowds were observed outside the temple, prompting the Uttar Pradesh government to dispatch Principal Home Secretary Sanjay Prasad and senior police officer Prashant Kumar to Ayodhya.

Expressing concern over the sizable gathering, Prashant Kumar, DG (Law and Order), stated, “People have gathered here in huge numbers. Principal Home Secretary and I have been sent here. We have improved the queue system for crowd management. We have made channels for the people.”

To ensure the security and orderly conduct of the visit, approximately 8,000 security personnel from the Uttar Pradesh police, Rapid Action Force (RAF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have been deployed at the temple. The security measures include eight magistrates overseeing different areas within the temple premises.

Praveen Kumar, Inspector-General of Police Ayodhya, advised devotees not to rush and consider scheduling their visits in the coming weeks. He emphasized, “The crowd is nonstop, but preparations are complete. We appeal to the old and differently-abled people to schedule their visit after two weeks. There’s no need to hurry for Darshan; the temple will be open for everyone with better preparations.”
