Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with schoolchildren at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, sharing moments of smiles, high-fives and interaction with the children.

The children exchanged warm greetings with the Prime Minister, who spent time speaking with them and blessing them.
During the interaction, a child asked PM Modi about his childhood dream. The Prime Minister responded that his dream was to meet all of them.
The video showed PM Modi shaking hands and exchanging high-fives with the children, who could be heard laughing and giggling during the interaction.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi extended greetings to people on Raksha Bandhan and wished that the bond of love, affection and mutual trust associated with the festival would remain forever unbreakable. He wished that the festival would bring happiness, prosperity and success to people’s lives.

Raksha Bandhan is observed on Purnima, the full moon day, of the Hindu month of Shravana. This year, the festival is being celebrated on Friday.
As part of traditional celebrations, sisters apply a tilak on their brothers’ foreheads before tying the rakhi, while families exchange sweets and gifts.
Raksha Bandhan is primarily celebrated in India and Nepal. It falls during the Hindu lunar month of Shravana, which generally corresponds to August on the Gregorian calendar.
