Dr. Iram, daughter of Nisar Ahmed and Shamim Akhtar, is a resident of remote Leeran village of Darhal, Rajouri.
The family currently resides in Jammu. Ahmed, a retired executive engineer with the Power Development Department (PDD), said his daughter dreamed of clearing the UPSC exam and after completing her MBBS course, she started preparing for the UPSC exam.
He said that the family supported him completely and motivated him to fulfill his dream. “She started self-study to prepare for civil studies and we fully supported her and now she has qualified UPSC exam,” Ahmed said.
