Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi on September 17, as India seeks to strengthen its semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
The three-day conference and exhibition will continue until September 19 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka.
The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the global semiconductor industry association, are organising the event under the theme ‘Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem’.
The programme will focus on manufacturing, technology, artificial intelligence, supply chains, advanced packaging, chip design, research, innovation and talent development.
SEMICON India 2026 will bring together more than 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international companies, along with delegates from more than 40 countries.
The exhibition will cover over 15,000 square metres and feature six country pavilions, state government pavilions, a Startup Pavilion and a Workforce Development Pavilion.
Around 40 start-ups will showcase their technologies, while students and entrepreneurs will take part in hackathons and pitch competitions. The event will also feature the ‘Sand to Silicon to Systems’ experience, showcasing the semiconductor value chain from raw materials to electronic systems.
The conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and strategic sessions involving industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and investors.
Six international country roundtables will also provide a platform for collaboration and potential partnerships.
The event will further host dedicated sessions on women’s leadership, workforce development and cooperation among industry associations, with a focus on strengthening India’s electronics system design and manufacturing sector.
SEMICON India 2026 comes as India expands efforts to build a robust and resilient semiconductor ecosystem through policy support, manufacturing projects, research, innovation and talent development.
