After Hanuman Ansh, Director Vishal Chaturvedi Announces ‘RamBola’ On Tulsidas

After exploring spirituality and devotion in Hanuman Ansh, filmmaker Vishal Chaturvedi will bring another spiritual story to the big screen.

The director has announced his next project, titled ‘RamBola’, which will be based on the life and journey of the legendary poet and saint Goswami Tulsidas.

Mahaveer Jain Films is backing the film, with producer Mahaveer Jain, who has also worked on films such as Ram Setu. The project will explore lesser-known aspects of Tulsidas’s life and his devotion to Lord Rama.

Tulsidas remains one of the most influential figures in Indian devotional literature. His most famous work, Ramcharitmanas, played a major role in making the story of Lord Ram accessible to a wider audience through the Awadhi language.

The title RamBola itself has a connection with Tulsidas. According to traditional accounts, Rambola was the name associated with him during his early life. The title therefore gives an indication that the film may focus not only on the famous poet but also on the man and his spiritual transformation.

For Vishal Chaturvedi, RamBola comes after Hanuman Ansh, continuing his interest in stories rooted in Indian spirituality, faith and cultural traditions. The director appears keen on presenting these subjects through a cinematic perspective for today’s audience.

The makers have yet to announce the cast and release date, but the announcement has already sparked interest among audiences following mythological and spiritual cinema.

With a celebrated literary figure like Tulsidas at its centre and Mahaveer Jain Films backing the project, RamBola could become an interesting addition to the growing line-up of Indian films exploring stories from the country’s spiritual and cultural history.
