Rajasthan Police has intensified its statewide traffic enforcement drive, taking action against more than 50,000 vehicles in just six days as part of its ongoing ‘Traffic Strike’ campaign aimed at improving road safety.

Launched on June 4 under the direction of Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, the campaign has resulted in 50,174 enforcement actions against vehicles violating traffic norms.

The highest number of violations recorded for illegal black films on vehicle windows, with police taking action against 19,694 vehicles.

Authorities also penalised 13,046 vehicles for illegal number plates, 6,791 vehicles for unauthorised words, symbols or designations displayed on vehicles, and 4,757 vehicles for unlawful body or chassis modifications.

The crackdown further targeted the misuse of red-blue beacons, flashers, strobe lights and hooters, leading to action against 3,244 vehicles, while 2,642 drivers were fined for using pressure and air horns.

The sixth day of the campaign witnessed the highest single-day enforcement, with 10,825 vehicles booked.

Police removed illegal black films from 4,220 vehicles, acted against 2,449 vehicles with non-compliant number plates, and penalised 1,784 vehicles displaying unauthorised writings.

Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Dr BL Meena said DG Traffic Anil Paliwal is supervising the campaign, which follows an ‘awareness first, enforcement later’ strategy and focuses on strengthening road safety and reducing accidents across the state.

Police have urged motorists to comply with traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles meet legal standards.
