Rajasthan BJP MLA Amrit Lal Meena has passed away following a sudden deterioration in his health late Wednesday night. He was 65 years old.
Meena, who represented the Salumber Assembly constituency, was rushed to MB Hospital in Udaipur after experiencing chest pain. Despite the doctor’s efforts to save him, he succumbed to a heart attack during treatment, according to hospital officials.

The news of Meena’s passing has sparked an outpouring of grief from political leaders. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma expressed his sorrow on social media, describing Meena’s death as a significant loss to the BJP family. “I am deeply shocked by the passing of BJP MLA Amrit Lal Meena due to a heart attack. This is an irreparable loss for the BJP. I pray for strength for his family during this difficult time,” Sharma wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
BJP State President Madan Rathore also conveyed his condolences through his X handle, stating his shock over the sudden demise of the senior party member. “Amrit Lal ji dedicated his life to the party’s ideology and addressed public concerns with commitment. May his soul rest in peace, and may his family find the strength to endure this immense loss,” Rathore said.
Amrit Lal Meena had served as an MLA in Rajasthan’s Assembly three times since 2013.
