Rain in Kerala closes schools and institutions in Thiruvananthapuram as homes are affected

The Central Water Commission further issued a flood warning for three rivers in the district of Thiruvananthapuram. It is valid for the district’s Karamana, Neyyar, and Vamanapuram rivers.

The state’s general education minister, V Sivankutty, toured the flooded districts and wrote on Facebook that the unique scenario in Thiruvananthapuram city was caused by the rain that started the previous night. Many areas have experienced water logging, which has led to a situation in which the rising seawater does not subside.
