Railways Preparing For Maha Kumbh 2025: Enhanced Services & Facilities For Devotees

As preparations for Maha Kumbh 2025 gain momentum, the Indian Railways is enhancing services to ensure a smooth and sacred experience for millions of devotees and visitors.

The focus is on clean, hygienic food and improved convenience for passengers traveling to Prayagraj.

The Prayagraj division has instructed all catering stall license holders to adhere to prescribed rates, maintain cleanliness, and ensure polite behavior toward devotees.

Stalls should systematically organize goods, and staff must wear proper uniforms with nameplates.

To accommodate the massive influx of visitors during the Maha Kumbh, the Railways is continuously expanding its services.

Himanshu Shukla, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager/Coaching, stated that crores of devotees from across India and abroad will likely travel to Prayagraj, with many relying on train services.

Shukla emphasized the Railways’ commitment to delivering top-notch services, stating that they will regularly and unexpectedly inspect stalls to ensure compliance.

He directed license holders to promptly submit details of their base kitchens and instructed staff to place visitor books at stalls to gather feedback and suggestions.

For Maha Kumbh 2025, over 13,000 trains, including more than 10,000 regular and 3,000 special trains, will operate to manage the massive flow of passengers.

A total of 560 ticketing points, including UTS, ATVM, MUTS, enquiry, and PRS, will be set up at nine railway stations: Prayagraj Junction, Subedarganj, Naini, Prayagraj Chheoki, Prayag Junction, Phaphamau, Prayagraj Rambagh, Prayagraj Sangam, and Jhunsi.
