Rahul Gandhi Calls Mahatma Gandhi India’s Moral Compass

Rahul Gandhi honoured Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring legacy in a post on X. He described him as the moral compass who stitched India together with truth, non-violence, and harmony.

“Bapu’s ideals, which united India through the principles of truth, non-violence, and harmony, will continue to inspire us to walk the path of peace, brotherhood, truth, and humanity in the face of hatred. On the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi Ji, I pay my humble respects to him,” he wrote.

Priyanka Gandhi Remembers Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Simplicity

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra paid homage to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, praising his simplicity and leadership.

In her post on X, she wrote, “Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi Ji, bestowed invaluable ideas like truth, non-violence, and satyagraha upon the entire world and showed the wonderful path of peace. The message of Bapu’s entire life was—love, peace, harmony, freedom, equality, self-reliance, and self-respect. Realising these dreams and walking on the path shown by Bapu is the true tribute to Bapu.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge greeted citizens on Gandhi Jayanti and recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s role in India’s freedom movement.

In his message on X, Kharge said: “The ideals of Mahatma Gandhi ji, the great architect of the Indian freedom movement and the Father of the Nation, who showed the path of peace to the entire world through supreme values like truth, non-violence, and satyagraha, will always remain a source of inspiration for us. Today, when his principles are facing challenges, we are confronting them by following Bapu’s teachings and guidance.”

Across India, citizens, civil society groups, and political leaders marked the day with prayer meetings, cleanliness drives, and cultural programs.

People garlanded the statues of Gandhi and Shastri as schools and communities echoed their teachings.
