Senior Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi during his U.S. visit, accusing him of damaging India’s image abroad. Chouhan claimed Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra failed to connect with India’s true essence.

Chouhan’s Accusations

Chouhan stated, “As Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi is accountable to the nation. Defaming India on foreign soil is akin to treason. No true patriot behaves this way. It seems Gandhi is frustrated by Congress’s recent electoral defeats and is now maligning India’s image in America.”

Chouhan defended the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), praising its volunteers for their nation-building efforts. He highlighted that abroad, there should be no distinction between BJP and Congress, only a united front representing India. Recalling a past visit to America, Chouhan defended former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh against criticisms, affirming that no Indian Prime Minister is an underachiever.

Response to Gandhi’s Criticisms

Chouhan also accused Gandhi of insulting Indian artisans and workers by suggesting India is too reliant on Chinese imports. He countered by emphasizing India’s growing self-reliance and production capabilities. “By discrediting Indian workers, Gandhi shows his detachment from India’s soil, people, culture, and traditions,” Chouhan added.

Chouhan agreed with Gandhi’s remark that people do not fear Prime Minister Narendra Modi but love him. “Modi Ji’s popularity is evident as he has been elected for a third term. Under his leadership, India is on its way to becoming the third-largest economy,” Chouhan concluded.
