Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday described Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation as Union Education Minister as a significant outcome of the nationwide student movement against alleged flaws in competitive examinations, including the NEET paper leak controversy.
Rahul Gandhi said the students’ sustained efforts represented a successful democratic campaign and congratulated them for raising their concerns. He added that Pradhan’s resignation could mark the beginning of necessary changes in India’s education system.
In a post shared on the social media platform, the Congress leader stated that the development was an important move towards improving the country’s examination framework and restoring trust among students.

Rahul Gandhi praised young protesters for standing together to defend democratic principles, constitutional values, and their future. He said the participation of students across different regions demonstrated the impact of peaceful public movements.
Gandhi extended his appreciation to those who came forward and demanded accountability, calling their efforts an example of how citizens can influence important national discussions.
Despite welcoming the resignation, Rahul Gandhi argued that some key demands of students had not yet been addressed. He called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologise to students and the nation over alleged failures in the examination system.
Rahul Gandhi further demanded strict punishment for individuals accused of attacking or using force against students during the protests.
In a video statement, Gandhi encouraged farmers, workers, and disadvantaged communities to speak up against issues affecting them. He said that raising voices against injustice was a sign of courage and urged people not to be afraid.
