Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Monday stepped onto Delhi’s busy roads to experience the daily grind of gig workers, continuing his campaign to highlight their concerns and working conditions.
In a video shared on social media, Chadha is seen wearing the jacket of a quick-commerce company and riding pillion on a two-wheeler with a young delivery partner.
The footage shows him navigating city traffic, entering residential complexes and taking an elevator to reach a customer’s doorstep for delivery.
He later posted the self-recorded video online, describing his experience as a Co-Delivery partner and writing, “Away from boardrooms, at the grassroots. I lived their day. Stay tuned!”

Earlier this month, on January 4, Chadha took to social media to draw attention to the release of draft social security rules for gig workers.
A qualified Chartered Accountant and former employee of global accountancy firms, he welcomed the move as a step towards formal recognition of the sector.
Taking to X, he posted, “Congratulations to all Gig Workers and Delivery Partners. There is good news for you. Central Government’s draft Social Security Rules are the first step towards recognition, protection and dignity for your work. Even though the Platforms (Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, etc.) chose not to listen to your voices, the people of this country and the government did. This is a small win, but an important win.”

Support for Nationwide Symbolic Strike
Chadha has also been vocal in backing gig workers during their protests.
On New Year’s Eve, he extended support to delivery partners across the country who observed a nationwide symbolic strike, demanding fair wages, improved working conditions and social security from major delivery and e-commerce platforms.
He spent the evening at Old Rajinder Nagar in Delhi, interacting with protesting gig workers from various companies who had gathered to make their voices heard.
The protest, Chadha said, was peaceful and aimed solely at highlighting the hardships faced by gig workers, whom he described as a vital part of India’s urban workforce and economy.

He termed the workers’ demands ‘legitimate and just’ and reiterated his solidarity with their call for fair wages, dignity at work and social security.
The nationwide strike, jointly called by the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) and the Indian Federation of App-Based Transport Workers (IFAT), saw thousands of delivery partners across several states log off their apps or significantly reduce work.
The protest disrupted services on one of the busiest commercial days of the year, with reports of delays and cancellations in multiple cities.
