In a major anti-crime operation, Punjab Police arrested two alleged associates of Canada-based gangster Arsh Dalla, accused of involvement in high-profile murder cases.

The arrests came as part of an intensified campaign to curb gang violence and illegal arms smuggling in the region, said Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Sunday.

The police suspect the arrested individuals of involvement in the killings of Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau in Faridkot and Jaswant Singh Gill in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

The suspects allegedly carried out these murders under Dalla’s instructions and then returned to Punjab, where police apprehended them near Kharar.

According to officials, their capture averted another possible targeted killing within Punjab.

Police also seized two sophisticated weapons during the arrest.

Punjab CI Arrests Two Linked To Portugal-Based Gangster Mannu Ghanshampuria

In a parallel operation targeting international arms networks, Punjab’s Counter Intelligence (CI) unit in Amritsar arrested two alleged members of a gang with connections to Portugal-based gangster Manpreet Singh, also known as Mannu Ghanshampuria.

The accused, identified as Aditya Kapoor from Amritsar and Ravinder Singh from Gurdaspur, reportedly linked to US-based gangsters Balwinder Singh (alias Doni Bal) and Prabhdeep Singh.

Police seized a 9mm Glock pistol, two imported .30 bore pistols, a .32 bore pistol, as well as five magazines and 14 cartridges.

The arrests were made after CI Amritsar officers set up a special checkpoint on Mehta Road.

Police stopped the two suspects while they were riding a motorcycle and subsequently detained them. They also impounded the motorcycle, registered under number PB18Z5033.

DGP Yadav stated that Kapoor, one of the detainees, has 12 previous criminal cases and was allegedly acting under the direction of US-based criminals, close associates of Mannu Ghanshampuria, linked to several criminal operations.

These networks reportedly rival the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, highlighting ongoing power struggles among organized crime groups in the region.

The investigation has uncovered that the suspects had received weapon consignments arranged by Doni Bal and Mannu Ghanshampuria and were allegedly preparing for further criminal activities in Punjab.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar, and further investigations are underway to uncover additional connections within these international crime networks.

Police officials emphasized that these arrests are part of a broader effort to dismantle organized crime groups and enhance public safety in Punjab.
