Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann meets envoys from different nations to ask for investment
During his meeting with envoys from eight nations on Wednesday, including the UK and Australia, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann asked them to make investments in the state in areas like sports, education, and agriculture. Here, Mann had meetings with high commissioners and ambassadors from several countries, including the Netherlands, Australia, Brazil, Spain, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom. They talked about areas of shared interest to encourage investment in Punjab.
Envoys showing interest in Punjab
The Punjab administration released a statement claiming that these nations’ envoys expressed a strong desire to invest in the state. The chief minister encouraged them to persuade their respective countries’ businesses to invest in Punjab by showcasing the state as a land of opportunity during the discussions.
Mann said that Punjab has complete communal harmony, peace and amity, which are mainly responsible for overall development and prosperity in the state. “During the day-long meetings, we discussed areas of mutual interest. The investments that will come in will help turn Punjab into a global hub of investment and help restore its original glory,” the chief minister told reporters after the meetings.
Foreign companies to make visit to Punjab prior to making investments
He claimed that shortly, businesses from these nations will visit the state and meet with officials to discuss potential investments, proving that his efforts are paying off.
Mann advised foreign businesses to take full advantage of this friendly environment, which is supported by superior infrastructure, power, trained labor, and the best industrial and work culture, in order to expand their operations.
He welcomed them with a red carpet and stated that the state administration is open to suggestions and advancements that can accelerate Punjab’s economic boom.

Mutual cooperation required in the state
During his discussion with Australian High Commissioner Philip Green, Punjab’s chief minister emphasized that in order to further strengthen Australia’s and Punjab’s economies, there is a need for mutual cooperation in a variety of disciplines. He claimed that Punjab had enormous investment potential in the fields of education, sports, cattle feed, and agriculture.
The Chief Minister stated during the meeting with UK High Commissioner Alex Ellis that Punjab and the UK could grow together in the agri-food processing industry to a great extent.
Mann further said that both the UK and Punjab can also be benefitted from strategic tie-ups in pharmaceuticals, engineering, information technology and chemical sectors, adding that he invited the UK universities to set up their campuses in Punjab.
