Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to the security personnel martyred in the Pulwama terror attack of 14 February 2019, marking the seventh anniversary of one of the deadliest attacks on Indian forces.
Remembering the fallen personnel, the Prime Minister said the nation remains eternally grateful for their supreme sacrifice.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote that the bravery, resolve, and service of the martyrs continue to inspire every Indian and remain deeply embedded in the country’s collective memory.

Leaders Across Parties Offer Homage
Leaders across the political spectrum also paid homage to the 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who lost their lives in the attack.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said the nation bows in respect to the valour and sacrifice of the soldiers martyred in Pulwama, describing their courage as a source of enduring pride for the country.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the sacrifice of the fallen personnel reflects the indomitable resolve of Indian valour and continues to inspire the fight against terrorism. He added that the nation remains committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid tribute, stating that the country will forever remain indebted to the courage and bravery of the soldiers who laid down their lives in defence of the nation.

Additionally, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said India will never forget the sacrifice of the Pulwama martyrs and reiterated that their martyrdom will always be remembered.

The Pulwama terror attack took place on 14 February 2019, when a suicide bomber linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 personnel.
In response, India carried out airstrikes on a terrorist facility in Balakot, signalling a firm stance against cross-border terrorism.
As the country observed the solemn anniversary, leaders and citizens renewed their resolve to honour the martyrs and uphold national security in their memory.
