Lone Women legislator and minister of Puducherry, S Chandira Priyanga has tendered her resignation today. In her resignation she levelled several issues which includes political conspiracies, influence of money and a huge bias over gender and caste. She was the minister of AINRC-BJP coalition.

She recorded history by being the first women minister in the N Rangasamy government where she was allotted the Transport portfolio. She is the sitting MLA of Neduncadu constituency in Puducherry’s Karaikal region. This seat is reserved for Dalit community. She announced her resignation through social media.
Puducherry sends 30 members to it’s assembly. S Chandira Priyanga’s resignation was a significant development in the state’s political circle. In her resignation letter she highlighted the challenges she encountered during her tenure, shedding light on her realization that the political landscape was far from straightforward. Priyanga expressed her inability to contend with the formidable influence of money and the disturbing presence of casteism and gender bias.

She also said in her resignation letter that she had been continually singled out and had reached a point where she could no longer endure the complexities of political intrigue and the overwhelming influence of financial resources.
She also stated her future plan that she would be writing reports regarding these matters.
