Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with 50,000 farmers during his visit to Varanasi on 18 June, according to Dilip Patel, BJP’s Kashi region chief.
This marks PM Modi’s first visit to Varanasi since taking the oath for his third term.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will personally meet 21 farmers at the Kisan meet venue in the Mehandiganj area and review the agricultural products produced by these farmers.
Additionally, he will release the 17th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi, a financial support scheme for farmers, before engaging in dialogue with the gathered farmers.
A key highlight of the event will be the felicitation of 30,000 Krishi Sakhis.
Prime Minister Modi will personally hand over certificates on stage to five women cultivators from eastern Uttar Pradesh, symbolizing the government’s recognition of their contributions to agriculture.
Prime Minister Modi’s Varanasi Visit: Itinerary & Engagements
The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes landing in Varanasi on Tuesday afternoon, followed by addressing the farmers’ meeting at Mehandiganj.
After the event, he will visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer prayers and attend the Ganga Aarti at Dashaswamedh Ghat.
Modi will stay overnight at the Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) guest house before returning to Delhi on Wednesday morning.
Security and logistical arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit were meticulously planned.
Commissioner of Police Mohit Agrawal and Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma confirmed that they have finalized all preparations.
A briefing for the forces assigned to the visit will take place on Monday afternoon.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are to attend the event, thereby enhancing the significance of the occasion.
Dilip Patel stated that farmers from distant villages will travel to the Kisan Sammelan by buses, tractors, and four-wheelers, while those from nearby areas will march on foot, accompanied by drums.
Patel emphasized a warm welcome for Prime Minister Modi with the slogan ‘Har Har Mahadev’.
This significant event underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting and engaging with the agricultural community in India.
