Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conducted an extensive consultation with Indian Grand Mufti Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar, focusing on minority welfare and broader social concerns. An official statement confirmed the engagement.

The Grand Mufti apprised the Prime Minister of the representations he received during his recent Kerala tour, organised under the theme ‘With Humanity’.
He conveyed concerns expressed by individuals from diverse communities. He stated that he had carefully recorded these issues during his public interactions.
Grand Mufti presented a special message marking the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The exchange also underscored the principle of inclusive development. Both sides reflected on the need to integrate all communities into the national growth framework.
They emphasised that policy must consider not only economic expansion but also human development and overall well-being.
They discussed equitable resource allocation based on demographic proportion and regional balance.
The dialogue included matters relating to Waqf administration and SIR.
The protection of historic mosques and Islamic heritage structures also featured prominently.
They further reviewed the reinstatement of minority-focused educational support schemes, including the Maulana Azad National Fellowship.
They discussed the advancement of the Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre.
The Grand Mufti underscored the necessity of sustained engagement between the Union government and minority communities nationwide.
The interaction reflected a continuing dialogue on inclusive governance and balanced national progress.
