Prime Minister Modi Celebrates India’s Pride And Progress In Independence Day Address

In his 11th consecutive Independence Day address from the iconic Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extolled the pride of India’s 1.4 billion citizens, asserting that the nation stands united and resilient.

Addressing the nation, PM Modi reflected on India’s transformation from a period marked by frequent terrorist attacks to a time when surgical strikes and airstrikes by the armed forces have become sources of national pride. “The youth of our country feel a deep sense of pride,” he declared, underscoring the collective pride of the nation’s 140 crore citizens.

Highlighting the progress made, Modi described the current era as a “golden age” for India, emphasizing the rapid advancements and reforms that have occurred. He noted the shift from citizens once pleading for government services to now receiving amenities directly at their doorstep.

The Prime Minister articulated his vision for a prosperous India, asserting that overcoming existing challenges will enable the country to achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. “If 40 crore people could break free from the chains of colonial rule, then 140 crore people can certainly usher in an era of prosperity,” he stated.

PM Modi also celebrated the success of the “Vocal for Local” initiative, which has become a cornerstone of India’s economic strategy. He praised the movement for fostering pride in local products and implementing the “One District One Product” scheme, which has boosted local economies.

In his address, Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to reform, emphasizing that these efforts are driven by a genuine desire to strengthen the nation rather than seek temporary praise or fulfill external pressures. “Our commitment to reform is unwavering, aimed at truly transforming lives and fortifying our country,” he affirmed.

The Prime Minister concluded by assuring citizens of the continued pursuit of meaningful reforms, reflecting on past changes and the determination to address the aspirations of the Indian populace.
