In a powerful address from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged for a united effort across all tiers of governance from panchayats to the Central government to prioritize the improvement of the ease of living for citizens.
Emphasizing a mission-mode approach, he called for a transformative shift in governance to ensure minimal government interference in the daily lives of the people.
Highlighting the critical need for robust governance systems, PM Modi underscored the importance of enhancing basic amenities such as drinking water, electricity, healthcare, education, and land ownership.
These five key areas, he stated, are crucial to achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047, which he termed ‘Viksit Bharat.’
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of collaboration between the Centre and state governments, down to the level of gram panchayats, to bring about meaningful reforms.
PM Modi asserted, “Our governance reforms are not just about policy announcements; they are about strengthening the nation and ensuring that government involvement in people’s lives is minimal.”
The Prime Minister assured citizens that the government is committed to enhancing the quality of life for both rural and urban populations.
He pointed to the success of initiatives like the Aspirational Districts Programme, led by NITI Aayog, as examples of how targeted governance can lead to significant improvements at the grassroots level.
“The dream of a developed India by 2047 is attainable through the development of states, districts, blocks, and villages,” the Prime Minister said, reiterating the need for continued reform and innovation in governance to achieve this ambitious goal.
