Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav took over the charge as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, today. He also holds the portfolio of the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Ayush.

Prior taking charge at the Union Health Ministry,  Prataprao Jadhav planted a sapling at his residence. After assuming charge, he also took a pledge to donate his organs.

Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav, born on November 25, 1960, is an Indian politician serving as the 3rd Minister of Ayush. He represents Buldhana and is a member of the Shiv Sena party. Jadhav defeated Rajendra Shingne of the Nationalist Congress Party in the 15th Lok Sabha elections.

Prior to becoming an MP, he held various positions from Sarpanch to MLA. And also served as a state minister in the Shiv Sena-BJP government. He is also the chairman of Sharangdhar Sugar Mills and has been elected as MP from Buldhana Lok Sabha Constituency of Maharashtra three times in 2009, 2014, 2019 and again in 2024.

Prataprao Jadhav has represented the people of Maharashtra in various capacities, including a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for three terms and as a State Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare, and Irrigation.

He was the State Minister for Sports, Youth Welfare & Irrigation in Government of Maharashtra from 1997 to 1999. In Lok Sabha, he has held key positions as Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. And he also holds position as Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology.

He interacted with senior officers of the Health Ministry subsequently at the interaction of Union Health Minister J P Nadda.
