On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely visit Kerala to bolster the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) campaign ahead of the Assembly elections slated for 9 April.
The visit is being viewed as a strategic move to reinforce the alliance’s presence in crucial regions of the State.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary begins with a public gathering in Thiruvalla, situated in the Pathanamthitta district.
Party representatives expect a strong turnout, with NDA candidates and senior leaders joining the event.
The meeting is intended to strengthen voter engagement in central Kerala, where the alliance is seeking to expand its support base.
Prior to the rally, PM Modi will land at the NSS College grounds in Changanassery around mid-afternoon. He will then proceed by road to Thiruvalla.
Organisers have reportedly made extensive arrangements in anticipation of large crowds.
Later, the Prime Minister will head to Thiruvananthapuram for a roadshow stretching roughly 1.5 kilometres between Killipalam Junction and Karamana. The event is likely to draw significant participation from party workers and local residents.
Senior BJP figures, including Rajeev Chandrasekhar and V Muraleedharan, are expected to accompany Modi during portions of the visit.
The Kerala outreach, however, follows a campaign stop in Puducherry on Friday. The Prime Minister held a well-attended roadshow under tight security.
The NDA coalition in the Union Territory comprises the BJP, the All India NR Congress led by Chief Minister N Rangasamy, the AIADMK, and other allies. It is aiming to strengthen its electoral footing.
PM Modi had travelled to Chennai earlier in the day before flying to Puducherry by helicopter, signalling the importance attached to the region’s upcoming polls. He was received at the airport by Rangasamy along with senior party leaders and officials.
