Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Bihar on 29 May to inaugurate the new terminal building at Patna Airport, according to Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal.
Speaking to the media in Patna on Friday, Jaiswal stated, “The day he lands on the soil of Patna, he will inaugurate the new terminal building.”
The Prime Minister will also assess the ongoing work at Bihta Airport, a key infrastructure project backed by the central government.
Jaiswal added that PM Modi will likely visit the BJP state office in Patna and hold discussions with party workers.
“BJP is a party of workers, and therefore, PM Modi will come to the party’s office in Patna to meet the workers. Such interactions reflect our core values,” Jaiswal remarked.
The following day, 30 May, PM Modi will travel to Bikramganj in Rohtas district to address a major public rally.
Preparations are currently underway for the event, which will likely draw a large turnout.
As part of his Bihar tour, the Prime Minister is to announce development projects valued at over Rs 50,000 crore.
These initiatives will likely cover sectors such as transport, connectivity, public infrastructure, and economic growth.
When asked about RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav’s return to active politics, Jaiswal commented, “It’s good that he is active in Bihar, but he should now focus on doing the right thing.”
He criticised Lalu’s past tenure, saying, “Earlier, when he was active, Bihar’s image suffered. The state became synonymous with lawlessness and backwardness. People used to feel ashamed to be identified as Bihari during his tenure.”
Jaiswal concluded by saying, “We hope that if Lalu is returning to politics, he contributes positively this time.”
